The Amazonas Mei Tai Asian sand carrier is a combination of a traditional sling and a modern carrying system. It is made of soft cotton fabric, is breathable and has no frame or buckles. Its shape is adapted to the natural posture of a newborn baby. The child sits like a little frog in a squatting position, which is very important for the development of the hip joint. The spine is still rounded, as it was in the womb, and can now only be stretched slowly. The spine is not fully developed until the child is able to stand on their own. The back of the Mei Tai carrier is ergonomically shaped to adapt to this curvature of the back.
